Paul Mitchell's CA Media Monitor
This is a free tool tracking media coverage of California's 2026 governor's race — news articles from 150+ outlets, YouTube videos, and Politico's California Playbook. See who's dominating the conversation, where the coverage is coming from, and how it compares to the polls.
I'm Paul Mitchell, Vice President of Political Data Inc. I built this because I was curious about the media dynamics of this race and figured others might enjoy following along. It's a fun project, not a professional media monitoring service — if you need that, there are great firms that will happily charge you for it.
Caveats
The data comes from public sources and is provided as-is. Some outlets are behind paywalls we can't get past. The scoring algorithm is good but not perfect. Word clouds are AI-generated and filtered for noise, but they're directional, not gospel. Use it to spot trends and have interesting conversations, not to make million-dollar campaign decisions.
